Speak more confidently and express yourself more clearly

If you understand English but find it difficult to use what you know when speaking, this course is designed for you.

In Alfra’s live online classes, you’ll have opportunities to speak about different topics, take part in discussions, and develop your speaking skills step by step with guidance from your mentor.

10 weeks · 20 two-hour sessions · Twice a week · 8–12 participants

This course is for you if

  • You have a reasonable foundation in English, but find it difficult to keep a conversation going.
  • You often pause to find the right words or rely on the same words and phrases.
  • You want to express your thoughts and experiences more clearly, accurately, and naturally.
  • You want to take a more active part in conversations and discussions on a range of topics.

What will you work on?

The course focuses on developing your spoken English: speaking more fluently and at greater length, using a wider range of words and expressions, and sharing your opinions with greater confidence.

This course is designed to help you progress from A2 toward B1. Your progress will depend on your starting level, active participation, and practice between sessions.

How the course works

Classes take place live online. The course includes 20 sessions over 10 weeks, with two sessions each week.

Each session lasts two hours, with 8–12 participants per group. Your mentor guides the conversations and actively shares speaking opportunities across the group.

You’ll have the same mentor throughout the course. Your mentor is a native English speaker.

Digital learning materials are included. To get the most out of the course, you’ll need to prepare before classes and practise between sessions.

Is this the right level for me?

You should already be able to use simple sentences to talk about familiar topics, everyday life, and your experiences—even if you pause or make mistakes.

If you’re a complete beginner and find it difficult to form simple sentences, this course is not the right starting point. It is also not primarily a grammar course or a course focused only on short, everyday conversations.

You can use Alfra’s free self-assessment to help you choose. It provides initial guidance rather than a definitive assessment of your speaking level.

If you’re still unsure, you can book a speaking level assessment before enrolling. Booking details and conditions are available on the assessment page.

Schedule and group confirmation

Class days, times, and start dates are displayed before registration opens, so you can check that the schedule works for you before purchasing.

Each course requires a minimum of 8 participants and accepts a maximum of 12. If there are not enough registrations for the advertised start date, you can choose to:

  • Wait for a new start date.
  • Cancel your registration and receive a full refund.
  • Transfer to another course by arrangement with us.

Attendance and participation

Active participation is central to this course. Before enrolling, please make sure you can attend regularly and practise between sessions.

Classes are not recorded. If you miss a session, we cannot offer an individual make-up class or a refund for that session. If Alfra cancels a session, a replacement session will be arranged.

Your camera must remain on throughout the class. Exceptions may be agreed in advance in special circumstances. To protect everyone’s privacy, participants may not record audio or video of the classes.

Will I receive a certificate?

No. This is a practical course for developing spoken English. It does not provide an official course certificate, a grade, or formal certification of your language level.
